ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAN BE TAUGHT, AND MUST BE LEARNED

THE TEACHER

As a serial entrepreneur, effective public speaker, and armed degree in psychology from the University of California, Doug Richard is uniquely prepared to create and deliver effective training in how to start and run a profitable business. Through School for Startups Doug has delivered instruction to more than 10,000 business owners with help from universities, public institutions like the British Library and philanthropic organizations like the Royal Institute of Great Britain. In 2006 Doug Richard received an honorary Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion for his work promoting, developing and helping entrepreneurs. In 2010 Richard received the Enterprise Educator of the year award from the National Council on Graduate Employment for his work through School for Startups with UK Universities.

THE MENTOR

Doug Richard’s School for Startups programs range from one and two-day bootcamps to year long course delivered as part of economic and academic development programs. As part of most instructional programs, Doug has designed comprehensive personalized support solutions which provide individualized guidance and expert advice for each entrepreneur. This mentoring, designed to augment in-class instruction, allows Doug to ensure that every attendee gets help applying School for Startup tools and techniques for starting, marketing, scaling and funding their enterprises.

Doug’s mentoring programs deliver support through comprehensive business model evaluations, online Q&A sessions where every student question is answered, to ad-hoc advice delivered 24/7 via email.

THE CAMPAIGNER

While startups and small businesses employ more than 90% of all people in the UK, their needs are rarely addressed by Government. The laws that serve multinational corporations and large businesses that employ thousands do very little to support or protect young new enterprises, even though these early stage businesses account for most of the economic growth and new jobs in the nation. The Richard Report, The Entrepreneur’s Manifesto, the Entrepreneurs Union and other campaigns launched by Doug Richard have captured support of leaders on both sides of the aisle.
