Manifesto response requires a fact check

Today, the small business website published an article entitled “Red Tape Not a Barrier for Startups, say FSB”. This was subsequently reprinted by another small business site, here. The essence of the article turned around two points in the Manifesto. First, that I am simply incorrect in my assertion that it takes too long to start a business in the UK and second that it is inappropriate for the Government to imitate the US set-aside for small businesses in federal procurement.
